Urgent care
When it cannot wait for morning.
Call during open hours and come straight in. Emergencies are seen ahead of booked visits.
After hours, for our patients
Call the main number
and press 2.
It rings the veterinarian on call that night. One of our three vets will call back within 15 minutes and, if your pet needs to be seen, meet you at the clinic.
Call (860) 555-0176Signs that need a call
Birds
A bird fluffed up and sitting on the cage floor, a tail bobbing with every breath, bleeding that will not stop, or a hen straining with no egg.
For a broken blood feather, press cornstarch or flour on it and call us.
Rabbits & guinea pigs
Not eating or passing droppings for 8 to 12 hours, or a sudden head tilt.
Reptiles
Breathing with the mouth open, straining, or tissue sticking out from the vent. Any pet that chewed an electrical cord needs urgent guidance.

On the way
Keep a sick bird or small mammal warm in a quiet room around 85°F, with the carrier half covered. Keep reptiles at the warm end of their range. Do not force food or water, and never give human or dog medicine.
The after-hours visit fee is $175 plus treatment.
Not yet a patient?
Call anyway. The on-call vet will tell you whether it can wait until morning and, if they cannot see you, which nearby 24-hour emergency hospital has a doctor comfortable with exotics that night. They will send our notes over.
